OPP Seeks Public Assistance to Locate Wanted Offender Evan Haney in Ontario

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is actively seeking the public’s help in locating Evan Haney, a 29-year-old federal offender who is currently wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant due to a breach of his Statutory Release. The Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (R.O.P.E.) Squad has issued this appeal as part of their ongoing efforts to ensure community safety.

Evan Haney is described as an Indigenous male, standing approximately 5’11” (180 cm) and weighing around 195 lbs (88 kgs). He has distinctive features including brown hair, hazel/green eyes, and wears thick-rimmed glasses with a green/blue strap. Haney is also marked by several tattoos that may help in identifying him, including a Toronto Maple Leafs logo on his left neck and a Toronto Raptors logo on his right neck, among others.

Haney is no stranger to the criminal justice system; he is currently serving a sentence of two years and three months for a series of offenses. These include multiple counts of break and enter, theft under $5000, disguise with intent, assault with a weapon, fraud under $5000, and failure to comply with a court order. His criminal history raises concerns about public safety, especially considering his known patterns of behavior.

According to the OPP, Haney frequently visits areas in Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, and Milton. He is also reported to have connections in Newfoundland, suggesting that he could potentially be moving across provincial borders. This raises the urgency for the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings or information regarding his whereabouts.

The OPP encourages anyone who may have seen Haney or has information about his location to come forward. They emphasize that community cooperation is crucial in apprehending individuals who have breached their parole conditions, thus helping to maintain safety in our neighborhoods.

As Canadians, it is important to stay engaged with local law enforcement efforts and support initiatives aimed at reducing crime and enhancing public safety. If you encounter Haney or have relevant information, please report it to the authorities. Your vigilance can make a significant difference in ensuring our communities remain safe.

In a time when community safety is paramount, the cooperation between the public and law enforcement can lead to successful outcomes. The OPP’s appeal serves as a reminder of the collective responsibility we share in looking out for one another and maintaining the safety and well-being of our communities across Ontario.
