The incident took place around 11:33 PM when Reid lost control of his car at the intersection of Orange Street and Chisholm Street. The vehicle collided with a tree before becoming lodged on a stump. Instead of remaining at the scene to assist or provide information, Reid and his passenger fled on foot toward a nearby housing complex.
