Two Arrested After Violent Gas Station and Store Robberies in Madoc and Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory
In a concerning series of events, two individuals were arrested following violent robberies that took place in Madoc and Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory on December 1, 2025. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reporting that the suspects used a baseball bat to assault victims during their crime spree, resulting in serious injuries.
The first incident occurred shortly after 3:30 PM at a gas station located along Highway 62 in Madoc. According to police reports, the two suspects filled their vehicle with fuel and then entered the store, where they refused to pay for the gas and other items. In a shocking turn of events, one of the employees was struck with a baseball bat, suffering serious injuries, while another person inside the store was also assaulted.
As police rushed to the scene, the pair managed to flee in their vehicle. However, their night of crime was far from over.
Just an hour later, at approximately 5:00 PM, the same two individuals targeted a store on Airport Road in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory. Here, they continued their violent spree, again using a baseball bat to strike an employee, who fortunately sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Following this second incident, one of the suspects exited the building.
Thanks to the swift response from both the Tyendinaga Police Service and the OPP, law enforcement was able to quickly locate and apprehend one of the suspects in a parked pickup truck nearby, while the second individual was also arrested shortly thereafter.
The charges against the suspects are serious and reflect the gravity of their actions.
