Scarborough Motorist Charged with Stunt Driving and Refusal in Port Dover
In a notable incident underscoring the importance of road safety in Ontario, a Scarborough man has been charged with multiple driving-related offences following a traffic stop in Port Dover. The incident occurred on November 28, 2025, around 2:58 PM, when an officer from the Norfolk County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a traffic infraction on Highway 6.
The driver, identified as 34-year-old Daruny Khamvong, was pulled over on Donjon Boulevard after the officer noticed suspicious driving behaviour. Upon interaction with Khamvong, the officer assessed the situation and subsequently took him into custody without incident.
Khamvong now faces serious allegations, including failure or refusal to comply with a demand made by the officer, performing a stunt while driving, and possessing more than one driver’s licence. These charges reflect not only a disregard for the law but also raise concerns about the safety of other drivers on the road.
The OPP has been actively reminding the public of the dangers associated with stunt driving and impaired driving. The increasing number of such incidents has prompted calls for stricter enforcement and public awareness campaigns to ensure the safety of all road users.
As Khamvong prepares for his court appearance scheduled for December 16, 2025, the OPP continues to encourage citizens to remain vigilant. If you suspect someone is driving impaired, the OPP urges you to contact them or your nearest police authority immediately by dialing 9-1-1.
This case serves as a reminder that road safety is a shared responsibility. With the holiday season fast approaching, the OPP will be ramping up enforcement efforts to deter unsafe driving behaviours and protect our communities.
