Cochrane Community Rallies for Annual Stuff a Cruiser Campaign on December 6

As the holiday season approaches, the spirit of giving is alive and well in Cochrane, Ontario. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), alongside the North Eastern Ontario Family and Children’s Services (NEOFACS), is gearing up for their annual Stuff a Cruiser campaign. This heartwarming initiative aims to spread joy to children, youth, and families facing hardships during the festive season.

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., OPP cruisers will be stationed at two popular local retailers: Canadian Tire and Giant Tiger. Community members are invited to stop by and help “Stuff a Cruiser” with donations of new, unwrapped toys or monetary contributions. Every little bit counts, as these donations will directly assist families in need throughout the region.

The Stuff a Cruiser campaign is part of the larger Community Angel Campaign, which has a long-standing tradition of supporting families during the holidays. NEOFACS, with the backing of the North Eastern Ontario Children’s Foundation, plays a pivotal role in ensuring that children and families receive the support they need during this time of year. The organization’s efforts are essential in delivering hope and happiness to those who may be struggling.

“The holidays should be a time of joy and celebration for everyone, and we are thrilled to partner with NEOFACS to make that happen in our community,” said an OPP representative. “We encourage everyone to come out, donate, and help us fill our cruisers to the brim with gifts and goodwill.”

Cochrane has always been known for its strong sense of community and generosity, and past initiatives have shown how residents can come together to make a significant impact. This year, the need is greater than ever, and the OPP is counting on the community’s continued support.

As you plan your holiday shopping, consider picking up an extra toy or two to donate. Whether it’s a stuffed animal, a board game, or art supplies, your contributions can make a world of difference to a child in need. Monetary donations are also welcomed, providing flexibility for NEOFACS to purchase items that are most needed.

The Stuff a Cruiser event not only helps local families but also fosters a sense of community spirit and camaraderie among residents. It’s a perfect opportunity to teach children about the importance of giving back and supporting those less fortunate during the holiday season.

Mark your calendars for December 6, and join your neighbours in making this holiday season a brighter one for families in Cochrane. Together, we can fill those cruisers and bring smiles to the faces of children and families throughout our community.
