Oxford OPP Bust Multiple Stunt Drivers, Excessive Speeds Recorded on Highway 401
In a weekend crackdown on dangerous driving, Oxford County’s Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) apprehended several drivers for stunt driving and excessive speeding, underscoring ongoing concerns about road safety across the province.
On November 22, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 401 near Woodstock, clocking it at an alarming 180 kilometers per hour in a posted 100 km/h zone. The 22-year-old driver from Woodstock was charged with a series of offenses including Drive Motor Vehicle - Perform Stunt - Excessive Speed, Careless Driving, and Speeding more than 50 kilometers per hour over the limit.
The following day, another reckless driver was caught on November 23, at approximately 9:00 p.m., on Road 68 in the Township of Zorra. This time, a 19-year-old G driver was pulled over while travelling 141 kilometers per hour in an 80 km/h zone. In addition to charges of stunt driving and careless driving, this individual was also cited for obstructing their license plate.
In a separate incident on November 24, at around 1:30 a.m., another driver was clocked at 175 kilometers per hour on Highway 401, near Ingersoll. The 32-year-old driver from North York now faces similar charges of excessive speed for stunt driving.
Each of the drivers involved in these incidents received an immediate 14-day driver’s license suspension and a mandatory 30-day impoundment of their vehicles, as per statutory requirements. The OPP is committed to ensuring the safety of all road users, and these recent incidents highlight the dangers posed by excessive speeding and reckless driving.
