Woodville Driver Charged with Impaired Driving After Collision on Woodville Road

In a recent incident highlighting the ongoing battle against impaired driving, a 48-year-old resident of Woodville, Ontario, is now facing charges after a single-vehicle collision on November 16, 2025. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from the City of Kawartha Lakes responded to the collision, which occurred around 1:58 PM on Woodville Road in Eldon Township.

Upon their arrival, officers found that the driver had initially failed to remain at the scene. However, he later returned, prompting the police to conduct an investigation. Following this inquiry, Andrew Clarke was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences, specifically for operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

Impaired driving remains a significant concern across Canada, with statistics showing that it is a leading cause of road fatalities. Ontario has been proactive in addressing this issue through various initiatives, including the OPP’s Ride program, which aims to deter impaired driving during the holiday season and throughout the year.

The consequences of impaired driving are severe, not only for the driver but also for innocent road users. The OPP encourages all Ontarians to make responsible choices when it comes to alcohol consumption and transportation. With events like the upcoming holiday season, the importance of sober driving cannot be emphasized enough.

Andrew Clarke is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice, where he will answer to the charges. This case serves as a reminder that impaired driving will not be tolerated in Ontario, and law enforcement agencies will continue to take action against offenders.
