Dufferin OPP Launches 2025 Toys for Tots Campaign to Support Local Families

As the holiday season approaches, the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is stepping up to lend a hand to those in need in the community. This year, the OPP is launching the 2025 Toys for Tots campaign in collaboration with the Salvation Army New Hope Community Church. The campaign will kick off on November 29, 2025, outside the Walmart in Orangeville.

The Toys for Tots initiative is a heartwarming opportunity for residents of Dufferin County to contribute to their community. Officers will be stationed at Walmart to collect new, unwrapped toys, non-perishable food items, and gift cards during the campaign period from November 29 to December 14, 2025. All donations will directly benefit families facing financial challenges within Dufferin County, ensuring that every contribution stays local.

Donations can be made at Walmart, located at 95 First Street in Orangeville, during the following hours:

  • Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

  • Sundays: 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

In addition to the Walmart location, community members can also drop off their generous contributions at several other sites throughout the region. These include:

  • The Salvation Army New Hope Community Church at 690 Riddell Road

  • The Salvation Army Thrift Store, located at 162 Broadway Avenue

This annual campaign not only helps those in need but also fosters a spirit of community and generosity among residents. The holidays can be a particularly challenging time for families facing economic hardships, and initiatives like Toys for Tots play a crucial role in ensuring that children experience the joy of receiving gifts during this festive season.

The Dufferin OPP encourages all community members to participate in this worthwhile cause. Whether it’s a toy, a non-perishable food item, or a gift card, every little bit helps to make the holidays brighter for local families.

As Canadians, we pride ourselves on our sense of community and willingness to help one another, especially during the holiday season. This campaign exemplifies those values, and the partnership between the OPP and the Salvation Army is a testament to the strength of community ties in Dufferin County.

Mark your calendars and spread the word—let’s come together to make this holiday season a little brighter for everyone in our community!
