In a troubling development, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested two individuals and are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a third suspect connected to a homicide that occurred in Bolton in 2021. On November 12, 2020, York Regional Police (YRP) responded to a shooting on Steeles Avenue West in Vaughan, where a victim was taken to hospital following the incident. Just over a month later, on January 18, 2021, the Caledon OPP were called to a residence on Harvest Moon Drive in Bolton. There, officers discovered a tragic scene: two individuals had entered the home and shot its occupants. Among them was the victim from the Vaughan shooting, and unfortunately, 65-year-old Giovanni Costa of Bolton was found deceased at the scene.

Fast forward to November 11, 2025, when OPP arrested 28-year-old Christopher Brown from Barrie, along with another individual in connection to the ongoing investigation. Authorities have not disclosed the name of the second arrested individual, but they have confirmed both are connected to the violent events of over two years ago.

The OPP have also issued a public appeal for information regarding a third suspect, whose identity remains unknown. This development raises alarm bells in a province that has seen a concerning rise in gun-related crimes over the past several years.
