Tragic Collision on Highway 401 Near Blandford-Blenheim Claims Life of Brampton Man
A tragic incident unfolded on Highway 401 in the Township of Blandford-Blenheim this morning as a collision between two commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) resulted in the death of a young man from Brampton.
At approximately 7:00 AM, emergency services, including the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment, Paramedic Services, and Fire Services, were called to the scene located in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401, just east of Oxford Road 29.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered that a CMV had struck the rear of another CMV while travelling eastbound. Unfortunately, the driver of the first CMV, a 26-year-old male from Brampton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was unharmed and did not require medical attention.
As a result of the collision, the eastbound lanes of Highway 401 between Oxford Road 29 and Cedar Creek Road have been closed to facilitate an in-depth investigation by the West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team.
