Dunnville Man Arrested After High-Speed Motorcycle Chase on Diltz Road
In a startling incident early Thursday morning, a traffic stop on Diltz Road in Dunnville led to the arrest of local resident Thomas Stevenson, 40. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that the event unfolded shortly after midnight when officers observed a motorcycle travelling at what appeared to be an excessive speed.
The OPP initiated a traffic stop, and during their investigation, it became evident that Stevenson was not just speeding; he was also in violation of multiple laws. As a result, he was taken into custody.
Stevenson now faces a slew of serious charges, including:
-
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
-
Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
-
Driving while under suspension
-
Failing to surrender an insurance card
-
Failing to surrender a permit for the motor vehicle
-
Operating a motorcycle with a red light at the front
These charges illustrate the ongoing issues of road safety and compliance with traffic laws in Ontario. Speeding and driving without proper documentation not only jeopardize the driver’s safety but also put other road users at risk.
Stevenson is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cayuga on December 16, 2025. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to the rules of the road, especially in a province where driving is often a vital mode of transportation for many.
The OPP continues to emphasize its commitment to keeping Ontario roads safe, reminding all motorists to be responsible behind the wheel. As Canadians, it is crucial that we uphold the law and ensure that our roads remain safe for everyone.
