Tillsonburg Man Charged with Impaired Driving After Erratic Traffic Stop
In a critical reminder of the importance of road safety, a 62-year-old man from Tillsonburg has been charged with multiple impaired driving offences following a traffic stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) early Sunday morning.
At approximately 3:00 a.m. on November 9, 2025, OPP officers were on routine patrol near the intersection of Plank Line and Quarter Town Line when they observed a vehicle exhibiting erratic driving behaviour. The officers promptly initiated a traffic stop, leading to the discovery that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
Linh-Duy Nguyen has been charged with three serious offences: Operation While Impaired - Alcohol, Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration over 80 mg, and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle. These charges highlight the OPP’s ongoing commitment to keeping Ontario’s roads safe and free from impaired drivers.
As part of the legal consequences associated with these charges, Nguyen will face a 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. He has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on December 18, 2025.
The OPP has emphasized the critical nature of reporting impaired driving. Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any instances of impaired, aggressive, or careless driving. In emergency situations, individuals are urged to call 911, while non-emergency complaints can be directed to 1-888-310-1122.
This incident serves as a poignant reminder that impaired driving remains a significant concern in communities across Ontario. The OPP’s proactive measures in monitoring and enforcing traffic laws are essential in preventing accidents and ensuring the safety of all road users.
As Canadians, we pride ourselves on our strong sense of community and responsibility towards one another. The actions taken by the OPP in this instance demonstrate their dedication to protecting our roads and fostering a culture of safety. It is crucial that we all do our part in keeping our highways and byways safe for everyone.
With the holiday season approaching, it is especially important for all drivers to be mindful of their alcohol consumption if they plan to be behind the wheel. Let’s work together to keep our roads safe and ensure that everyone arrives home safely.
