Tragic Collision on Highway 400 Claims Life of Sudbury Woman
In a heartbreaking incident on November 5, 2025, a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 400 near Georgian Bay has left one woman dead and another injured. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that the accident occurred just after 11:30 a.m. when a vehicle carrying three females veered off the northbound lanes, striking a rock cut near Crooked Bay Road.
Emergency services, including ORNGE air ambulance and Simcoe County Paramedics, quickly arrived at the scene to provide life-saving measures. Tragically, a 68-year-old woman from Sudbury was pronounced dead at the scene. A second passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.

The highway has since reopened, but the incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of road travel, especially during the busy fall season when traffic tends to increase.
While the investigation is ongoing, authorities believe that no other vehicles were involved in the collision. The OPP is appealing to the public for any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward and assist with their investigation.
