OPP Seeks Public's Help in Locating Missing Gull Bay Resident Rene King


The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have issued an urgent appeal for public assistance in locating a missing person from the Gull Bay First Nation. Rene King, 58, was last seen on Saturday, October 18, 2025, around 4:00 PM EST. The OPP have updated the last seen information in their ongoing search efforts.

Rene is described as a tall individual, standing 6’2” (188 cm) and weighing approximately 250 lbs (113 kg). He has short, dark grey and white hair and was last reported to be wearing dark blue jeans, a t-shirt, a fluorescent jacket, and running shoes with yellow stripes. His familiarity with the Thunder Bay area adds an additional layer of urgency to the search, as he could be anywhere in the region.

The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch is leading the investigation, supported by the OPP Emergency Response Team, the Kiashke Zaaging Anishinaabek Police (Gull Bay Police), the Major Case Investigation Team, and the Thunder Bay/Armstrong Detachment Crime Unit.
