Kingsville Man Charged with Impaired Driving After Single Vehicle Collision in Leamington

A late-night incident in Leamington has set the stage for serious impaired driving charges against a 37-year-old man from Kingsville. On November 3, 2025, at approximately 11:42 PM, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a single vehicle collision on Erie Street South.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers encountered the lone occupant of the vehicle, later identified as Justin Woollven. During their interaction, it became apparent that Woollven had consumed alcohol prior to the incident. Fortunately, he was not injured in the collision, but the situation quickly escalated as officers assessed the circumstances.

The police arrested Woollven and transported him to a local detachment for further testing, confirming their suspicions regarding his impairment. He now faces two significant charges: Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus).

In accordance with Ontario’s strict impaired driving laws, Woollven’s vehicle was impounded for seven days, and he received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (ADLS). This swift action serves as a reminder of the serious consequences associated with impaired driving, particularly as we approach the holiday season when road safety becomes even more critical.

Woollven has since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock on November 14, 2025.

The OPP continues to emphasize the importance of road safety and the dangers posed by impaired driving. They encourage all Ontarians to report any suspected impaired drivers by calling 911 in emergency situations. The message is clear: responsible driving is essential for the safety of everyone on Ontario’s roadways.

As Canadians, we take pride in our beautiful landscapes and vibrant communities, which depend on safe travel. Let’s remember to make responsible choices behind the wheel and look out for one another.
