Orillia OPP Investigating Break and Enter at Local Jewellery Store


In a concerning incident that has rattled the Orillia community, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a break and enter that occurred at a jewellery store within the Orillia Square Mall on the night of November 2, 2025.

Around 11:11 p.m., officers responded to an alarm triggered at the commercial unit. Upon arriving at the scene, they discovered damage to the rear entrance of the jewellery store, indicating that the perpetrators had forced their way inside.

The investigation revealed that display cases had been significantly damaged, and various items of merchandise were reported missing. A tool believed to have been used in the break-in was found at the scene, providing potential evidence for investigators.

Despite their efforts, including a thorough search of the surrounding area, no suspects were apprehended at the time. The OPP has since enlisted the help of their Canine Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT), and Forensic Identification Services to aid in the investigation. Surveillance footage from the mall is currently being reviewed in hopes of identifying the culprits.
