South Bruce Peninsula Woman Arrested for Impaired Driving After Collision in Meaford
In a concerning incident that highlights the ongoing battle against impaired driving in Ontario, a 54-year-old woman from South Bruce Peninsula has been arrested following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 26 in Meaford. The collision occurred on the evening of October 28, 2025, when a concerned citizen reported that a vehicle was swerving erratically before crashing into a telephone pole.
According to the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers arrived on the scene shortly after the report at approximately 6:53 p.m. Fortunately, the driver, identified as Julie Napper, was not injured in the collision. However, further investigation revealed that she was operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs.
As a result, Napper has been charged with operation while impaired - drug and possession of a controlled substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. In accordance with provincial regulations, she also faces a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
Following her arrest, Napper was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on November 13, 2025.
