Quick Police Response Leads to Arrest in Essa Township for Vehicle Thefts
In the early hours of Monday, October 27, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of suspicious activity in Essa Township that ultimately resulted in the arrest of a 31-year-old woman. The incident unfolded shortly after 1:00 AM when a vigilant resident on Brentwood Road noticed a female suspect attempting to enter parked vehicles.
The witness provided a detailed description of the suspect, a Caucasian female wearing a hoodie, a dark jacket, and long black pants with stripes, who was seen riding a bicycle. This timely tip-off enabled OPP officers to quickly converge on the area, leading to the identification of the suspect near 53 Brentwood Road.
Upon investigation, officers discovered that the suspect was in possession of multiple items that did not belong to her. This raised immediate concerns about vehicle break-ins in the area, which have become a troubling issue for many communities across Ontario.
