In a decisive move against organized crime, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested an individual in connection with a series of auto thefts in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The investigation began in late 2024, spearheaded by the OPP’s Provincial Auto Theft and Towing (PATT) Team. On October 16, 2025, officers executed four search warrants in various locations, including Toronto, Vaughan, Woodbridge, and Etobicoke. Officers seized a variety of incriminating items, including key programmers—devices that can reprogram vehicle keys to unlock and start stolen cars—approximately $30,000 in cash, a re-VINned vehicle (a car that has had its Vehicle Identification Number altered), two additional vehicles deemed as offence-related property, and several Ontario licence plates.
