65-Year-Old Woman Charged with Impaired Driving in Middlesex Centre
On October 16, 2025, a routine traffic complaint turned serious when the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested Luisa Raposo, a 65-year-old resident of Lucan, for impaired driving. The incident unfolded around 3:23 p.m. on Elginfield Road, where an alert citizen reported a suspected impaired driver.
Upon receiving the complaint, OPP officers promptly located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The situation escalated when officers determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol, leading to her arrest. Raposo was subsequently transported to the Middlesex OPP detachment for processing.
As a result of the investigation, she has been charged with several offences under the Criminal Code, including:
-
Operation while impaired - Alcohol
-
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
-
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
Following her arrest, Raposo was released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on November 20, 2025, to address the charges against her.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving and the role the public plays in reporting suspicious behaviour. The Middlesex OPP encourages citizens to remain vigilant and to report any instances of suspected impaired driving to ensure the safety of all road users.
As Ontario continues to address impaired driving, the OPP remains committed to enforcing laws aimed at reducing this dangerous behaviour, which endangers not only the driver but also others on the road.
