Multiple Arrests Made in Drug Trafficking Investigation in Southern Bruce County
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed multiple search warrants early on October 15, 2025, in Kincardine and Huron-Kinloss. This operation, led by the Grey-Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), involved collaboration from several regional police units, including the Wellington, Huron-Perth, Brant-Oxford, Middlesex, and Lambton CSCUs, as well as the OPP’s West and Central Region Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, and Canine Unit.
The coordinated effort resulted in the seizure of various suspected illicit drugs, including 46 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of cocaine, 22 grams of Ecstasy/MDMA, and 11 grams of psilocybin (commonly known as magic mushrooms). Additionally, police confiscated a small amount of Canadian currency and firearm ammunition during the operation.
As a result of this investigation, several individuals have been arrested and are facing serious charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Notably, David Rehkoph, a 47-year-old resident of Kincardine, has been charged with five counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking. He also faces three counts of possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.
This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the OPP to combat drug-related crime in the region. The collaboration among various police units exemplifies a united front against the challenges posed by drug trafficking and its associated violence. As concerns about drug use and trafficking continue to grow, the OPP remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of local communities in Southern Bruce County.
Authorities encourage community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities. The impact of drug trafficking reaches far beyond the individuals involved and can affect entire neighbourhoods, making these enforcement actions crucial for public safety.
In the wake of these arrests, the South Bruce community is urged to discuss the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of prevention and education. The OPP’s proactive approach serves as a reminder that tackling drug-related issues requires the cooperation of law enforcement and community members alike.
