Two Arrested After Traffic Stop in Puslinch Township; Imitation Firearm Seized
On the evening of October 15, 2025, a routine traffic enforcement initiative by the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in the arrest of two individuals in Puslinch Township. The traffic stop, initiated around 9:00 p.m. on Wellington Road 35, uncovered more than just a simple infraction.
The driver, a 34-year-old resident of Puslinch Township, was found to be operating the vehicle while under suspension—an offense for which he has been charged twice under the Highway Traffic Act. He is expected to appear in the Provincial Offences Court in Guelph at a later date.
However, the situation escalated with the involvement of the passenger. Avagalos Karageorgos, a 54-year-old from Kitchener, was arrested after police discovered an imitation firearm in his possession. He now faces a more serious charge under the Criminal Code for possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose. His court appearance is scheduled for November 18, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph.
The OPP’s proactive approach to traffic enforcement not only addresses minor infractions but also plays a crucial role in uncovering more serious criminal activities. In this case, the quick response by officers helped to remove a potential threat from the streets, reinforcing the importance of such initiatives in ensuring community safety.
As investigations continue, the Wellington OPP encourages anyone with relevant information to come forward, highlighting the ongoing commitment to public safety and crime prevention in the region.
