West Elgin Man Charged with Theft Following Recovery of Stolen Vehicle
In a recent incident highlighting ongoing issues with vehicle theft in Ontario, a 27-year-old man from West Elgin has been charged after police recovered a stolen vehicle in London.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that on Monday, October 13, 2025, at approximately 6:29 PM, they were alerted by the owner of a motor vehicle that it had been stolen. The investigation led officers to the City of London, where the vehicle was successfully recovered.
As a result of their inquiries, police charged Cody White with theft of a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code. This charge reflects the seriousness of auto theft, which has seen a rise in various regions across Ontario in recent years.
Following the charges, White was released on an Undertaking, setting a date for his appearance in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on November 10, 2025.
