Three Impaired Drivers Charged in Renfrew Area Over Two Days
In a concerning series of events, the Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged three individuals with impaired driving following two incidents that occurred within a span of two days. These charges are a stark reminder of the ongoing issue of impaired driving on Ontario’s roads.
The first incident took place on Friday, October 10, 2025, at approximately 7:25 a.m. OPP officers responded to a single-vehicle collision in the Township of Whitewater. Upon investigation, Parker Garron, a 21-year-old resident of Cobden, was found to be operating the vehicle while impaired. He faces two charges: operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and operating with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 milligrams. Garron has since been released and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Pembroke on November 5, 2025.
In a subsequent incident, on Sunday, October 12, the OPP responded to another report of impaired driving in the same area. This time, two additional individuals were charged. The details regarding these incidents, including the identities of the accused, have yet to be disclosed as investigations are ongoing.
These arrests highlight a troubling trend in impaired driving incidents within the region. The OPP has been actively working to combat impaired driving through various initiatives aimed at raising awareness and ensuring road safety. However, the frequency of such incidents underscores the need for continued vigilance and enforcement.
Local residents are urged to remain aware of the dangers of impaired driving and to report any suspicious behaviour to law enforcement. Public safety is a shared responsibility, and community members play a crucial role in keeping Ontario’s roads safe.
As these cases move through the legal system, the OPP will continue to monitor and respond to impaired driving incidents. The hope is that increased enforcement and public awareness will eventually lead to a significant reduction in impaired driving occurrences in the Renfrew area and beyond.
