OPP Officer Saves Life in Quinte West Residential Fire


In a dramatic rescue, an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer saved a life during a residential fire in Quinte West early on October 13, 2025. Responding to an emergency call shortly after 4:00 a.m., the officer’s quick actions proved crucial in preventing a potential tragedy.

The incident began when a witness, alerted by a smoke alarm, called 911 after noticing heavy smoke emanating from a residential building on Fifth Avenue. The witness attempted to reach a distressed occupant trapped in a basement unit but was forced to retreat due to the overwhelming smoke.
