Stratford Man Charged with Impaired Driving After Traffic Stop in Lucan Biddulph

On October 13, 2025, a routine patrol by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Middlesex County led to the arrest of a Stratford man for impaired driving. At approximately 4:43 p.m., an officer monitoring traffic on Elginfield Road in Lucan Biddulph noticed a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit.

The officer initiated a traffic stop, during which he suspected that the driver, identified as 35-year-old Daniel Tracy, was operating the vehicle while impaired. Following standard procedures, Tracy was arrested and subsequently taken to the Middlesex OPP Detachment for processing.

As a result of the traffic stop, Tracy now faces multiple serious charges. These include operation while impaired due to a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, speeding up to 49 km/h over the posted limit, and driving while under suspension.

Tracy has been released from police custody but is expected to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on November 20, 2025, to answer to the charges.

The OPP is reminding the public of the risks associated with impaired driving and emphasizes the importance of reporting any suspicious behavior or suspected impaired drivers. The safety of our roads is a shared responsibility, and timely reporting can help prevent potentially dangerous situations on the highways.

This incident serves as a crucial reminder of the ongoing issue of impaired driving in Ontario, a problem that authorities are actively working to combat. As Canadians, it is vital to prioritize safety on our roads and make responsible choices when it comes to drinking and driving.
