Strathroy Woman Charged with Impaired Driving After Ditch Incident in North Middlesex

On the evening of October 8, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Townsend Line near Ausable Road in North Middlesex. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a vehicle that had left the roadway and entered a ditch. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.

Following an investigation, the OPP charged Jana Seal, a 46-year-old resident of Strathroy, with two counts under the Criminal Code related to impaired driving. The specific charges include operating a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood.

Seal has since been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on November 6, 2025, to address the charges against her.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers associated with impaired driving. The OPP is urging the public to remain vigilant. If anyone suspects an impaired driver or witnesses suspicious activity, they are encouraged to report it immediately to the police.

Impaired driving remains a serious concern across Ontario, and law enforcement agencies are continuously working to keep the roads safe for all motorists.
