Driver Arrested After High-Speed Collision in Paisley, Ontario
In a troubling incident that underscores the dangers of reckless driving, a 21-year-old man has been arrested following a fail to remain collision in Paisley, Ontario. The event occurred on October 10, 2025, around 4:42 p.m. when the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of a collision on Inkerman Street.
According to police reports, an off-road vehicle collided with a cargo van after crossing into the opposite lane at a high rate of speed. The driver of the off-road vehicle, later identified as Brett Hagan from Brockton, fled the scene before authorities arrived. However, the quick-thinking driver of the cargo van managed to capture a photo of the suspect vehicle and its occupants, which proved crucial in identifying Hagan based on previous incidents.
As a result of this reckless behaviour, Hagan has been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle (CC 320.13(1)) and failing to comply with a release order (CC 145(5)(a)). These serious charges reflect the OPP’s commitment to maintaining road safety and holding accountable those who endanger the lives of others through irresponsible driving.
