Trenton Driver Charged with Impaired Driving After Collision in Quinte West

A Trenton man is facing serious charges after being arrested for impaired driving in Quinte West on October 13, 2025. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Quinte West Detachment responded to a collision around 8:00 p.m., which raised suspicions that the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol.

Upon arrival, officers conducted an assessment of the situation and determined that the driver, identified as 39-year-old Lindsay Galloway, exhibited signs of impairment. This prompted police to arrest Galloway and transport him to the Quinte West Detachment for further testing.

Following the assessment, Galloway was charged with two serious offences: operation while impaired due to alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

In addition to the charges, Galloway’s vehicle has been impounded for seven days, and he faces a 90-day suspension of his driver’s license. He has been released from custody but is now scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.

The OPP continues to emphasize the importance of road safety and the dangers of impaired driving. They urge citizens to remain vigilant; if anyone suspects that a driver is under the influence, they should not hesitate to call 9-1-1. Reporting impaired driving can potentially save lives and prevent serious accidents.

As the investigation unfolds, the case serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against impaired driving in Ontario. Whether due to alcohol or drugs, the consequences of such actions are severe not only for the offenders but also for the community at large.
