OPP Seeks Public Help in Identifying Driver of White Ram 1500 Involved in Highway Collision in Sudbury
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are appealing to the public for assistance in a fail to remain investigation following a three-vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Sudbury. The incident occurred on October 10, 2025, around 3:30 p.m., and involved a white Ram 1500 pickup truck.
According to police reports, the driver of the Ram 1500 was travelling westbound on Highway 17 when they struck the vehicle directly in front of them. The impact caused that vehicle to collide with another car. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
However, in a concerning turn of events, the driver of the white Ram 1500 did not stop to provide assistance or exchange information. Instead, they maneuvered around the damaged vehicles and continued west towards Kingsway Avenue in Sudbury. This behaviour is not only irresponsible but also illegal under Ontario law, which requires drivers to stop and assist in the event of a collision.
The OPP are now actively seeking the public’s help in identifying the driver of the Ram 1500 and gathering any potential evidence related to the incident. They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage that could aid in the investigation.
Fail to remain charges carry serious legal implications and can result in fines, points on a driver’s license, and even potential jail time, depending on the circumstances of the incident. It is crucial for drivers to be held accountable for their actions on the road to ensure the safety of all road users.
Citizens with any information related to the incident are encouraged to step forward. The OPP has established a dedicated line for tips and is committed to following up on any leads provided.
As this investigation progresses, the OPP emphasize the importance of community cooperation in keeping our roads safe. Every piece of information, no matter how small it may seem, can be pivotal in bringing accountability to those who evade their responsibilities after causing a collision.
The public’s vigilance is essential in such matters, and the OPP continues to rely on the support of the community to help maintain road safety across Ontario.
