Caledon OPP Arrest Three in Drug Trafficking Investigation

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made significant strides in combating drug trafficking in Caledon, Ontario, following a recent investigation that led to multiple arrests. Members of the Caledon Detachment’s Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant on a residence, resulting in the seizure of around 19 grams of cocaine, various pills, and items associated with drug distribution.

The investigation, which began in Autumn 2025, was bolstered by assistance from the Nottawasaga and Southern Georgian Bay CSCUs. During the search, officers found digital scales, packaging materials, and a cell phone, all of which are commonly linked to the sale and trafficking of illegal substances.

As a direct result of this operation, three individuals were arrested and are now facing serious charges. Lindsay Elliott, 33, and Matthew Regent, 39, both from Bolton, were charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, as well as additional counts related to possession and breaches of recognizance. Their involvement signifies a crucial step in the OPP’s ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks in the region.

The third individual arrested has not been named in the release, but the charges against all involved highlight the persistent issue of drug-related crime in Ontario. The OPP’s proactive approach aims to increase public safety and reduce the availability of harmful substances within the community.

In recent years, drug trafficking has become a pressing concern for many Canadian communities, and operations like this one by the OPP are vital in addressing the issue head-on. Authorities encourage community members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities that could be linked to drug trafficking.

As the investigation continues, the OPP remains committed to ensuring that those involved in illegal drug activities are held accountable. This operation serves as a reminder of the importance of law enforcement in maintaining community safety and the ongoing fight against drug-related crime in Ontario.
