Two Utility Task Vehicles Stolen in Norfolk County, Police Seek Public Assistance
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are appealing to the public for assistance following the theft of two utility task vehicles (UTVs) in Norfolk County. This recent crime spree has raised concerns among local residents, particularly about the security of their properties.
The first incident occurred on Friday, October 10, 2025, at approximately 10:23 a.m. when officers responded to a report of a stolen UTV on Windham Centre Road. The investigation revealed that between August 29 and October 10, an unidentified individual unlawfully entered a shed on the property, making off with a black and silver 2013 Can-Am Commander UTV, which bears Ontario licence plate 39WM7.
Just a day later, on Saturday, October 11, at approximately 2:53 p.m., police were called to another theft on McDowell Road East in Simcoe. This incident involved a break-in at a barn where several power tools were stolen, along with a green and black 2023 CFMOTO UFORCE 600 UTV. This UTV was taken from a different location on the property, further complicating the investigation.
The OPP have not disclosed whether the incidents are connected, but the timing and nature of the thefts have raised suspicions. As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with information regarding these incidents to come forward.
The theft of UTVs not only impacts the victims financially but also raises questions about safety and security in rural communities. Local farmers and property owners are reminded to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activities in their areas.
The OPP’s ongoing efforts to combat rural crime are crucial, and community involvement can play a significant role in recovering stolen property and deterring future thefts. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to enhance their property security measures, ensuring that sheds and barns are locked and monitored.
As the investigation unfolds, the OPP will continue to provide updates to the public. Those with information are reminded that even the smallest detail can make a difference in solving these crimes and restoring peace of mind to Norfolk County residents.
