Dufferin OPP Investigate Two Break and Enters at Orangeville Restaurants

The Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating two separate break and enter incidents that targeted local restaurants in Orangeville, Ontario, on October 3, 2025.

In the first incident, police responded to a call from a restaurant near 400 Townline. The suspect or suspects broke in by smashing a glass door and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from a money box. This break-in is believed to have occurred between 9:30 PM on October 2 and 6:30 AM on October 3.

Shortly after the first incident, another restaurant on Armstrong Street fell victim to a similar crime. Again, a glass door was smashed, and an undisclosed amount of money was stolen from a money box. This second break and enter is also thought to have taken place in the early morning hours of October 3.

Authorities have provided a description of one suspect in connection with the second incident. The individual was seen wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, gloves, and a surgical mask, which has raised concerns over the increasing trend of anonymity among criminals.

The Dufferin OPP are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity they may have observed in the vicinity of 400 Townline or Armstrong Street during the time frame of these incidents. Community cooperation is vital in helping law enforcement tackle such crimes and maintain safety in the area.

The OPP encourages anyone with information regarding these break and enters to come forward, as even the smallest detail could prove crucial in apprehending those responsible.

The rise in break and enters is a trend that has been noted across various regions, making it imperative for communities to band together in the fight against crime. The Dufferin OPP’s proactive approach to engaging the public in this investigation reflects a commitment to ensuring a safer environment for all Orangeville residents.
