Mount Forest Driver Lawrence Calder Charged with Impaired Driving After Found Asleep at the Wheel
A Mount Forest resident is facing serious charges after being discovered asleep at the wheel of his vehicle in the early hours of October 11, 2025. Lawrence Calder, a 21-year-old man, was charged with impaired driving following a traffic complaint made by a concerned member of the public.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of an unresponsive driver in a vehicle parked in a live lane on Main Street. Upon arrival, officers found Calder asleep, prompting further investigation into the situation.
As a result of their findings, Calder was charged under the Criminal Code with two serious offenses: Operation while Impaired by alcohol and drugs, and Operation while Impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg.
