Essa Township Man Charged with Impaired Driving After New Tecumseth Collision

On the night of October 11, 2025, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single-vehicle collision in New Tecumseth that resulted in charges of impaired driving for a local man. The incident occurred shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Adjala Tecumseth Townline, just south of the 13th Line.

Officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment arrived at the scene to find a vehicle in the ditch, and upon interacting with the driver, they suspected that his ability to operate the vehicle was compromised due to alcohol consumption. This led to the arrest of 31-year-old Jesus Zola, a resident of Essa Township.

Zola has been charged with two counts related to impaired driving: “Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)” and “Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs.” These charges highlight the seriousness of the incident and the ongoing issues surrounding impaired driving on Ontario roads.

Zola is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on November 6, 2025, where he will answer to the charges filed against him.

The OPP continues to emphasize the importance of road safety, particularly in relation to impaired driving. They encourage the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected cases of impaired driving by calling 911. The message is clear: driving under the influence is not only dangerous but also illegal, and the OPP is committed to ensuring that Ontario roads remain safe for all users.

This incident serves as a reminder of the potential consequences of impaired driving and the importance of responsible behaviour behind the wheel.
