Saugeen First Nation Man Arrested for Armed Robbery at Highway 21 Business


In a concerning incident that unfolded on October 7, 2025, a local business on Highway 21 in Saugeen First Nation became the target of an armed robbery. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) reported that a suspect entered the establishment armed with a knife, demanding cash from an employee.

The individual arrested has been identified as 31-year-old James Farr, a resident of Saugeen First Nation. Following his arrest, Farr was charged with several serious offences under the Criminal Code, including:

  • Two counts of failing to comply with a probation order

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

Farr has been detained and is scheduled for a bail hearing on October 9, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.
