Armed and Dangerous Individuals Sought in Ginoogaming First Nation, OPP Warns Public


The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have issued a warning regarding two armed and dangerous individuals who are currently at large in Ginoogaming First Nation. This urgent situation has led to a shelter-in-place advisory for residents of the area as law enforcement agencies ramp up their search efforts.

In a recent media release from the North West Region Headquarters, the OPP emphasized that public safety is their top priority. They are collaborating with the Anishinabek Police Service in this critical operation. While the alert remains in effect for Ginoogaming, residents in nearby Manitouwadge can resume their daily activities as the emergency alert for that area has been lifted.

Authorities are urging anyone in the Ginoogaming First Nation vicinity to remain vigilant and to continue sheltering in place until further notice. The OPP has instructed the public to report any suspicious activity to their non-emergency line at 1-888-310-1122, while any emergencies should still be directed to 9-1-1.
