OPP Seeks Public Help in Trailer and Aviation Fuel Theft Near Onaping Lake


On October 2, 2025, at approximately 2:05 PM, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a theft report near Onaping Lake, located off Highway 144 in the unincorporated territory. The incident involved the theft of a trailer and a significant quantity of aviation fuel, collectively valued at around $30,000.

The stolen trailer has been described as an aluminum-coloured Kara model WGT, prominently featuring a white container mounted on it. This container held approximately 1,500 litres of aviation fuel, alongside various tools attached to the trailer. The Ontario plate on the trailer is Z9459J.

Given the high value of the stolen items, police are urging the community to assist in the investigation. They are particularly interested in identifying the vehicle used in the theft and any individuals who may have been involved.

In recent years, thefts of valuable equipment such as trailers and fuel have raised concerns among residents and local businesses. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of community vigilance and cooperation with law enforcement to combat such crimes.
