Among those charged was an 18-year-old G2 driver from Carleton Place, who was stopped for speeding just before 11:00 p.m. on October 3. The driver was clocked at an alarming 148 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Highway 417. During this routine traffic stop, officers conducted a roadside alcohol screening test, which led to further testing at the Ottawa Detachment. In addition to the speeding G2 driver, four other individuals were charged with impaired driving offences throughout the weekend.
