London Man Arrested in Connection with Multi-Jurisdictional Theft of Watercraft and Trailers

A London resident has been arrested by the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) following a multi-jurisdictional investigation into a string of thefts involving boats and trailers across Southwestern Ontario. The investigation has raised alarms about property crime in the region, with several incidents linked to this individual.

The investigation began after reports surfaced of stolen watercrafts and trailers from various properties. One notable incident occurred on July 20, 2025, when two watercrafts were reported stolen from a commercial property in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. Surveillance footage revealed a silver SUV and a white pickup truck entering the back lot of the property near Highway 6-21. The SUV was seen leaving with a green 2022 Seadoo GTI personal watercraft, while the pickup truck departed with a Zodiac centre console inflatable boat.

The investigation continued as OPP received another report on August 1, 2025, about a stolen trailer from a property on Highway 10 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands. This theft is believed to have occurred overnight, with the trailer containing valuable food and catering equipment.

A third incident took place on July 24, 2025, near Grey Road 12 in Meaford, which involved a white Buick Enclave and a blue Ford F250. Details are still emerging about this specific theft as the investigation unfolds.

The arrest of the London man marks a significant step in addressing the rising issue of property crime in the area. The OPP has emphasized the importance of community vigilance and cooperation in combating such crimes. As these incidents highlight, collaboration between law enforcement and the public is crucial in deterring theft and ensuring the safety of local businesses and residents.

As the investigation continues, the OPP has not disclosed the identity of the suspect or the specific charges he faces, but this case serves as a reminder of the ongoing challenges posed by property crime in Southwestern Ontario. Authorities encourage anyone with further information related to these incidents to come forward.

This incident underscores the need for heightened security measures and vigilance among property owners, particularly in areas prone to such thefts. As the OPP continues their investigation, the community remains hopeful for a resolution and the apprehension of those responsible for these crimes.
