Fatal Collision in North Perth Claims Lives of Two Residents, Injures Another


In a tragic turn of events on Saturday evening, a two-vehicle collision in North Perth has led to the loss of two lives and left a teenager with serious injuries. The incident occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. on October 4, 2025, on Perth Line 86, prompting an immediate response from the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Perth County Paramedic Services, and the Listowel Fire Department.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered two vehicles in significant disrepair: a passenger car and a pickup truck. The driver of the passenger car, a 72-year-old man from North Perth, was pronounced dead at the scene. Tragically, a 75-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the same vehicle, was transported to a local hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 17-year-old male, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was subsequently airlifted to a hospital in London for further treatment.

Both deceased individuals were residents of North Perth, and their identities have not yet been publicly released pending notification of their families. This incident has shocked the local community, leaving many to mourn the loss of two long-time residents.

The OPP is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. As of now, no charges have been laid, but authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information related to it to come forward.
