OPP Seeks Public Assistance to Identify Suspects in Wilsonville Mischief Case

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reaching out to the community for assistance in identifying two individuals linked to a mischief incident that recently took place in Wilsonville, Norfolk County. The incident, which involved an attempted vehicle purchase, has raised concerns about potential scams targeting sellers in the area.

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, at approximately 1:36 p.m., officers responded to reports of mischief on Norfolk County Road 19 East. The investigation revealed that the suspects arrived at a residence around 10:00 a.m., responding to an online advertisement for a vehicle that was up for sale.

Described as having a brown complexion, medium builds, and dark moustaches, both suspects wore hats during the encounter. One suspect engaged the vehicle owner in conversation to distract them, while the other allegedly tampered with the vehicle, causing it to emit smoke. Following this, the suspects attempted to pressure the owner into selling the vehicle “as is” for a significantly reduced price. However, the owner refused to comply.

After the interaction, the suspects left the scene in a white Ford Fusion sedan, prompting the OPP to issue a public appeal for assistance in identifying them. Investigators suspect that the suspects may be targeting multiple vehicle listings across various online buy-and-sell platforms, raising alarms for sellers in the region.

This incident serves as a reminder for individuals using online marketplaces to exercise caution when dealing with potential buyers. The OPP encourages anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to come forward to assist in apprehending those involved.

As the investigation continues, the OPP remain vigilant and are urging the public to report suspicious activities, particularly those related to online sales. Community engagement is vital in ensuring public safety and preventing further incidents of this nature.

Residents in Wilsonville and surrounding areas are reminded to stay alert and report any suspicious behaviour to the authorities. The OPP are committed to keeping the community safe and appreciate any assistance provided in this matter.
