Serious Collision on Sunset Drive in Central Elgin Injures Two, Including Motorcyclist


On October 2, 2025, a serious collision occurred on Sunset Drive in Central Elgin, involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle (SUV). The incident took place around 3:04 p.m. and required a response from the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Central Elgin Fire Department, and Medavie Elgin Emergency Medical Services.

The collision resulted in injuries to both parties involved. The motorcyclist, a 27-year-old man from St. Thomas, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the 61-year-old driver of the SUV from London sustained minor injuries in the crash.

As a precaution during the investigation, Sunset Drive was closed for several hours but has since been reopened to traffic.
