Puslinch Man Arrested for Impaired Driving Following Collision with Tanker Truck
On October 2, 2025, the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious collision on Brock Road South near Highway 401, where a pick-up truck collided with a tanker truck. The incident, which occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m., prompted an immediate response from local emergency services.
The investigation revealed that Justin Andrews, a 50-year-old resident of London, was operating the pick-up truck at the time of the incident. Following the collision, he was arrested and subsequently charged with four serious offences under the Criminal Code and the Highway Traffic Act. These charges include:
-
Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
-
Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
-
Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
-
Driving a motor vehicle without a valid licence
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the collision. However, the incident raises critical concerns about impaired driving and road safety, particularly given the ongoing discussions regarding the impact of such actions on community safety.
The consequences for Andrews are significant. In addition to the criminal charges, he faces a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment, both standard protocols aimed at discouraging impaired driving.
Andrews is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Guelph on October 14, 2025, where he will face the charges against him.
Impaired driving continues to be a pressing issue in Ontario, and this incident serves as a reminder for all drivers to remain vigilant and responsible behind the wheel. The OPP urges anyone who suspects impaired driving to report it immediately, as these actions can have severe consequences for both the driver and other road users.
