Five Impaired Drivers Charged by Dufferin OPP in Recent Crackdown

In a significant effort to enhance road safety, the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged five individuals with impaired driving-related offences over a ten-day period from September 19 to September 29, 2025. This initiative underscores the OPP’s ongoing commitment to keeping the roads of Dufferin County safe for all residents and visitors.

Among those charged is Anton Bilonozhenko, a 38-year-old male from North York. He faces serious charges including operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit, performing stunts while driving, and excessive speeding—specifically, travelling over 50 km/h above the posted limit. Such reckless behaviour not only endangers the driver but also poses a significant risk to other road users.

Another individual charged is 44-year-old Arvindpal Dhillon from Shelburne, who was also apprehended for operating a vehicle while impaired. This arrest highlights the persistent issue of impaired driving in the region, prompting law enforcement to increase vigilance on local roads.

Asdrubal Sibaja Burke, a 26-year-old male, and Josue Delgado, also 26 and both from North York, were similarly charged with multiple counts of impaired operation, including driving under the influence of both alcohol and drugs. Their arrests reflect a concerning trend of young adults engaging in dangerous driving practices that could have dire consequences.

The OPP’s proactive measures during this period are crucial. By identifying and removing impaired drivers from the roads, the police not only safeguard their community but also send a clear message about the dangers of impaired driving. The consequences of such actions extend beyond legal repercussions, impacting families and communities alike.

The Dufferin OPP’s recent success is part of a broader campaign to deter impaired driving and promote responsible behaviour on the roads. This initiative aims not only to enforce the law but also to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving during the upcoming holiday season, a time when incidents of such nature often increase.

As Dufferin County continues to grow, the OPP’s commitment to maintaining road safety remains paramount. The recent charges serve as a reminder for all drivers to prioritize safety and make responsible choices.

With the community’s support, the OPP hopes to reduce the number of impaired driving incidents and ensure safer travel for everyone on Dufferin’s roads. As we move into the fall season, it is essential for all drivers to remember the grave risks associated with impaired driving and to take steps to prevent it.
