Beeton Man Charged with Impaired Driving Following New Tecumseth Collision

A 27-year-old man from Beeton, Ontario, has been charged with impaired driving following a single-vehicle collision that occurred on September 30, 2025. The incident took place shortly before 5:30 p.m. on 10 Sideroad, between the 3rd and 4th Line in New Tecumseth.

Members of the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene after receiving reports of a vehicle that had gone into a ditch. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle and interacted with the driver, Matthew Harrison. During their assessment, they formed grounds to believe that Harrison’s ability to operate the vehicle was impaired by drugs and alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, Harrison was arrested and charged with two offenses: operation while impaired by alcohol and drugs, and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80 mg.

Harrison is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on October 30, 2025, to respond to these charges. The OPP has reiterated its commitment to maintaining safe roads across Ontario and has urged the public to report any suspected instances of impaired driving by calling 9-1-1.

Impaired driving remains a serious issue that endangers lives and poses significant risks to road safety. The OPP’s proactive approach to tackling impaired driving incidents reflects their ongoing efforts to reduce such occurrences and keep communities safe.

As the case unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible driving and the severe consequences that come with impaired operation of a vehicle.
