Two Arrested After Break and Enter at Exeter Retail Business


In a significant police operation, two individuals have been arrested following a break and enter at a retail business in Exeter, Ontario. The incident occurred in the early hours of September 26, 2025, when the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of suspicious activity at a compound located on Main Street South.

Just before 3:00 a.m., officers discovered a rental truck that had been backed into the property, raising immediate concerns. Upon their arrival, police observed one suspect fleeing on foot. Further investigation revealed that the rental truck had been reported stolen from London. Inside the vehicle, officers found a rifle and a replica handgun, which raised alarms about the intentions of the suspects.

To ensure the safety of the community, the OPP deployed multiple units, including the West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), and a K-9 unit. The diligent efforts of the K-9 team led to the successful tracking of the suspects in the vicinity. One of the suspects was found to be in possession of a replica handgun, further complicating the charges they would face.

The suspects arrested have been identified as 21-year-old Kyle Poisson from Acton, Ontario, and another individual whose identity has not yet been disclosed. Both have been charged with multiple criminal offences, which include breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, and possession of weapons for dangerous purposes.
