Suspect Arrested After Stolen Vehicles Lead to Collision with OPP Cruiser in Wasaga Beach
In a series of alarming events, a 52-year-old man from Tiny Township has been arrested following multiple vehicle thefts that ended in a collision with an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) cruiser in Wasaga Beach. The incident unfolded on September 28, 2025, when officers were dispatched to investigate reports of stolen vehicles.

After the thefts, the suspect made his way to Wasaga Beach, where he was involved in two hit-and-run incidents. The Huronia West Detachment quickly located the vehicle on Bells Park Avenue, but the situation escalated when the suspect collided with a police cruiser and a nearby residence.
Following the crash, officers initiated an impaired driving investigation. As a result of the collision, one OPP officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries but has since been released.
The suspect, identified as Jeffrey Parent, faces multiple charges, including:
-
Two counts of theft of motor vehicle
-
Operation while prohibited
-
Fail to comply with probation order
-
Assault peace officer causing bodily harm
-
Possession of property obtained by crime
This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding vehicle theft and impaired driving in the region. Community members are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local authorities.
The OPP continues its investigation into this incident, and additional details may emerge as they piece together the full extent of Parent’s actions. Residents in Wasaga Beach can take some solace knowing that law enforcement is actively addressing these types of crimes.
