Tragic Fatal Collision Claims Life of 22-Year-Old in Sioux Lookout


A single-vehicle collision in Sioux Lookout has claimed the life of a young man from Emo. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the incident that occurred on Friday, September 26, 2025.

Emergency services responded to the call at approximately 8:00 a.m. after a passing motorist reported a vehicle in a ditch along Vermillion River Road, just north of Sioux Lookout. Upon arrival, officers found the vehicle and the lone occupant, a 22-year-old male, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The OPP promptly closed Vermillion River Road to facilitate their investigation, which lasted several hours. The road was reopened to traffic shortly before 5:00 p.m. the same day.
