Two Clinton Men Charged After Disturbance at Lucknow Music Festival
In a startling turn of events, a weekend music festival in Huron-Kinloss became the scene of a disturbance that led to charges against two men from Clinton. On August 23, 2025, around 11:30 p.m., officers from the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling the festival grounds when they were alerted to a confrontation involving festival attendees.
According to reports, Ryan Marriage, 25, and Spencer Cantelon, 24, allegedly engaged in indecent behavior by exposing their genitals to a group of unsuspecting campers. This inappropriate act has raised concerns about public conduct at festivals, a growing issue in many Canadian communities where large gatherings are held.
The situation escalated quickly as site staff intervened, escorting the two individuals from the venue and removing their wristbands. Upon further investigation, OPP discovered that the wristbands used by Marriage and Cantelon were fraudulent, adding a layer of complexity to their charges.
Both men are now facing serious allegations under the Criminal Code of Canada. They have been charged with:
-
Indecent act - CC 173(1)(a)
-
Fraud under $5,000 - CC 380(1)(b)
The charges reflect a growing need for increased awareness and enforcement of conduct at public events, as incidents like these can tarnish the reputation of community festivals designed for enjoyment and celebration.
Marriage and Cantelon are scheduled to appear before the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on October 29, 2025, to address these charges. The OPP is encouraging anyone with additional information regarding the incident to come forward, emphasizing the importance of community safety and responsible behavior at public gatherings.
As Canadians, we pride ourselves on fostering a welcoming atmosphere at events that celebrate our vibrant culture and community spirit. Incidents such as this serve as a reminder that we must remain vigilant and uphold standards of decency and respect in public spaces, ensuring that everyone can enjoy these experiences without fear of disruption or misconduct.
As the festival season continues, it is crucial for organizers and attendees alike to be aware of their responsibilities in creating a safe environment for all. The actions of a few can impact the enjoyment of many, and it is our collective duty to promote a culture of respect and accountability.
